September is a great time to visit Orlando.  The parks experience some of their lowest crowds and lowest prices, yet some of their best special events begin this month.  The weather is still warm, but be prepared for the occasional afternoon storm.

Here’s the Ellis Exclusive Villas guide to getting the most out of your Orlando vacation when you stay with us in September.

The Theme Parks

The parks are much quieter now than the highs of summer.  You can enjoy some of the shortest lines and the lowest ticket prices this month.

Epcot’s fantastic annual event, its International Food and Wine festival, begins mid-way through September and crowds may be busier on some days during the festival.  It is a fabulous event and definitely worth visiting at least once in your life.

Mid-way through the month Universal and Disney both play host to some of the biggest names in Christian music.

And, as September progresses, more and more of Orlando’s theme parks and attractions will unveil their Halloween celebrations.  The Magic Kingdom is one of the first to kick of Halloween; its kid-friendly Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party runs throughout September and October.  For adults, Universal’s Horror Nights can’t be beaten – and they start at the end of the month.

You can book Orlando theme park tickets through Ellis Exclusive Villas.  We guarantee you won’t get a better price.

If you want help making sense of your theme park and attraction tickets options, we recommend speaking with our attraction tickets partner, who will offer great advice based on your family preferences.

The Weather

The weather in Orlando during September is hot and humid.  Temperatures are certainly a lot higher than those in the UK, or many other parts of the USA.  However, you should be prepared for the occasional afternoon storm.

Although it is warm, the risk of rain is fairly high – you’re well into hurricane season – so make sure you have an umbrella or lightweight raincoat packed in your day pack along with your sun screen.

Until Hermine at the beginning of September 2016, Florida hadn’t experienced a hurricane for more than ten years.  Let’s hope it is at least another decade until we see another one!

Wider Central Florida

September is a great time to schedule a shopping break.  Bag yourself a post-summer bargain, stock up your wardrobe for the new season or start your Christmas shopping a bit early before the prices hike in late November.

Orlando is well blessed for shopping malls, and whether you are into bargain hunting or designer labels, a visit to one of Orlando’s numerous shopping malls can make a really diverting excursion.

Take the opportunity of the quieter vibe to enjoy Orlando’s best dining and entertainment – you can even grab yourself a fine dining bargain by checking out which restaurants are participating in this year’s Orlando magical dining restaurant event (a month-long charity dining promotion).

Your Vacation Home

You won’t need to pay for pool heat in September – the weather is still warm enough for you to enjoy the pool without paying the extra for pool heat.
