Frozen is coming to Epcot!
We are huge fans of Frozen in our house – so we are really excited about the latest news from Disney World Orlando that a new “Frozen Ever After” ride will open in Epcot in 2016.
Sail Along to Arendelle
The new attraction will be a boat ride that takes visitors on a tour through the kingdom of Arendelle, during a “Winter in Summer” celebration featuring animatronic figures of some of the animated movie’s lead characters including Elsa, Anna, Kristof, Sven, and Grandpappy troll.
The ride will also feature songs from the film – including “For the First Time in Forever” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?”– and culminating in a finale where Elsa will make it snow (thanks to some special effects, screen projections and the hit song “Let it Go”) followed by fireworks and a send-off by the main characters.
I’m already so excited!
Plus, the Norway Pavillion – where the new ride will be located – will also house a Royal Sommerhaus. Here, Elsa and Ana will greet visitors, sign autographs and pose for photos… what little girl wouldn’t want to visit?
Early 2016 launch
The ride is being constructed as a replacement to the Maelstrom log ride – which is essentially being renovated so that the Viking ships and waterflume remain, but now take visitors past Elsa, Ana and Arendelle rather than through a tour of Norway and Norse mythology.
The new ride will be the biggest “Frozen” attraction at any of the Disney amusement parks when it opens in early 2016.
